small gifts, big changes
India is home to one of the world’s richest and most diverse cultural traditions. Every state, district, city, town, and village has its own unique identity expressed through traditional art forms, handicrafts, folk traditions, textiles, music, dance, architecture, festivals, and cultural practices. These traditions represent the knowledge, creativity, history, and identity of communities across generations. However, many valuable art forms and traditional practices are gradually facing the risk of decline due to urbanisation, changing lifestyles, limited market access, inadequate documentation, and decreasing participation among younger generations.
Manvi Foundation is committed to preserving, promoting, documenting, and revitalising India’s traditional art, craft, and cultural heritage. Through this initiative, we aim to bring the unique cultural identity of different regions onto a common national and global platform, enabling communities, artisans, craftsmen, folk artists, and cultural practitioners to showcase their skills and traditions to a wider audience. Our objective is not only to preserve cultural heritage but also to create sustainable livelihood opportunities for traditional communities by connecting them with awareness programmes, exhibitions, cultural events, digital platforms, capacity-building initiatives, and suitable market opportunities.
This initiative is aligned with Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013 and Schedule VII, Item (v), relating to the protection of national heritage, art and culture, including the promotion and development of traditional arts and handicrafts. The proposed programme contributes to the preservation of India’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage while supporting artisans and strengthening cultural awareness across communities.
Our vision is to showcase the rich cultural heritage of every state, district, city, town, and village of India to the world—celebrating the people, creativity, traditions, and skills that make our country unique, while ensuring that these invaluable traditions continue to live, evolve, and inspire future generations.
