Skill Development Programme

We have been implementing a comprehensive Skill Development Programme aimed at empowering women by providing them with practical skills, livelihood opportunities, and the confidence to become financially independent. Under this initiative, we conduct a three-month Cutting & Tailoring training programme every quarter, especially for women who have limited access to employment and income-generating opportunities. The training provides participants with hands-on knowledge and practical experience in cutting, stitching, designing, garment making, and other essential tailoring skills that can help them establish sustainable livelihoods. The programme not only focuses on technical skill development but also encourages participants to build self-confidence, improve their decision-making abilities, and explore opportunities for self-employment.

Upon successful completion of the three-month training, each participant receives a certificate along with a tailoring tool kit, enabling them to continue practising their skills and begin earning from home or through a small tailoring unit. To further strengthen women’s economic empowerment, we also provide guidance and support to trained participants in establishing their own units, procuring raw materials, managing basic production activities, and finding suitable markets for the sale of finished products. Through this continued support, women are encouraged to transform their newly acquired skills into sustainable sources of income. The programme therefore goes beyond classroom training by creating a pathway from learning and skill development to self-employment, income generation, and long-term economic independence. Through regular training, practical support, and livelihood opportunities, we aim to help women become confident, skilled, and self-reliant members of their families and communities.
